Lumix Diaries Lemon Sharks with Lumix TS5 Underwater Camera
Amazingly, there is not a lot to share on the technical side of this image. I simply put it on P (program) with AF and let the camera handle everything else. This image was shot with the Lumix TS5 an older version of their superb underwater cameras with the newest model being the Lumix TS6D. The great thing about this camera is it’s incredibly small size yet tremendous
ability to produce some exciting images. I also have an underwater housing for my GH4 on this trip but I have to say, many of the images I’ve been shooting underwater have been with the TS5. It’s just so small and easy to handle.

Without a doubt, if I were using flash underwater, the GH4 in it’s underwater housing would be the camera to go to but for just point and shoot fun, this little orange beauty is very hard to beat.

I especially love the fact it has a zoom lens built in. Typically, underwater, you want to shoot as wide as possible but to have the zoom option right at your fingertips is hard to pass up. There are sometimes it’s absolutely essential for a little more reach. And the video is equally impressive as well. Below is a short clip I shot on Lemon sharks.
This little camera is a sleeper and I’m sure the newest version the Here’s a shot of our group I took from a tripod. Quality is superb, better than any of the phone images and the cameras form factor is not much larger. Not to mention, this image was shot attached to a tripod that was setup in the ocean. Wouldn’t do that with my iPhone.
Fun in the sun with our small little group on our own deserted island. Thankfully the bar and the resort was just fifty yards behind the Lumix camera:)
The newest version is the Lumix TS6D which has WiFi capabilities that gives you the ability upload the images direct to your iPhone through Panasoinc Image App. I use this app regularly with my GH4, GX8 and G7 and it works beautifully. Hard to believe.
