OM System has come through with their promise to bring some of the features of the OM-1 Mark ll to the original OM-1. I like the firmware update procedure OM System uses via their OM Workspace software but you can also update via their cell phone app. I’ve never tried the cell phone app but people tell me it works great. Either way, unlike other manufacturers OM System provides a much smoother process to update your cameras. You can also simply download the firmware and follow their instructions to install it. However, I’m a big fan of the process via their OM Workspace procedure. One caveat is if you’re using one of Apple’s new silicon Macs. That would be either the M1, M2, or M3 processors. You can read more about how to get through the M processor issues in this link. Once you get your M processor Mac setup for OM System downloads the firmware updates are super simple via OM Workspace.
