Aloha Dan,
I’m considering the Olympus M Zuiko 12-100mm (24-200) f/4 for my G9 over my Panasonic 14-140mm (28-280) f/3.5-5.6 and seeking your assistance. Do I understand I will be voiding the G9’s 5-Axis Sensor Stabilization; Dual I.S. 2 capabilities and left with just the Optical Image Stabilization, Sync IS of the M Zuiko and if so, what does that capability consist of in it’s range ?
If the Panasonic/Leica collaboration were to offer a lens of this focal length range and speed I’d certainly consider it first however, do not see such an offering as yet.
Your thoughts and guidance are always appreciated.
Tim
Hi Tim,
DThe Olympus 12-100mm is a wonderful lens but there are two issues in my mind. One is its very heavy. The other is the fact you do loose Dual IS when using it with a Lumix body. My answer has been the Leica 12-60mm and the Leica 50-200mm. With both I have virtually all focal lengths covered with the Dual IS I’ve found so helpful. Hope this helps.
